Steel From World Trade Center On Display At Atlantic Beach

A piece of the rubble from the World Trade Center will be displayed in Atlantic Beach.

A couple of firefighters from Atlantic Beach just came back from a quick trip to new york with a 2,200 pound piece of steel.

The steel came from the twin towers that were destroyed on 9-11.

The 48 hour trip was an emotional ride for these firefighters who have ties to that day.

Atlantic Beach Fire Chief Adam Snyder says, "One of the guys here at the fire department, his father worked for Hazmat One and he died during the terror attacks. It was very important to have this in Atlantic Beach and in this county as a whole."

The Atlantic Beach Fire Department worked on getting this piece of rubble for 2 years.

They traveled overnight with a new flag wrapped around the steel.

The flag and the rubble will be displayed in front of the fire department for everyone to see.
