State Honoring Veterans At Capitol Ceremony

Current and former service members will focus upon the recent return of military personnel from the war in Iraq during this year's Veterans Day ceremony at North Carolina's state Capitol.

Gov. Beverly Perdue was slated make remarks at Saturday morning's official state ceremony on the old Capitol grounds in downtown Raleigh.

The commander of the state's American Legion, a U.S. deputy surgeon general and a one-star Army general at the Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg also were set to attend the event.

A downtown Raleigh veterans' parade preceded the scheduled ceremony.
