As temperatures continue to plummet, some Eastern Carolina residents may have trouble paying utility bills.
Greenville Utilities is reminding those people that there are several resources to help with heating costs.
Greenville Utilities has a neighbor-to-neighbor program that collects money to contribute to heating assistance during winter months. Though, there are also resources for those who are just looking to be more energy efficient.
Scott Mullis with Greenville Utilities says, "We have trained staff in our Energy Services Department who can come out and do energy audits to help customers save money."
Customers have about a six week window between a missed payment and when the utility company will shut off electricity.
