Republican Walter Jones Headed To 10th Term In U.S. House

Voters are returning Republican U.S. Rep. Walter Jones to the U.S. House.

Jones won a 10th term Tuesday to represent North Carolina's 3rd District.

Early, unofficial totals showed Jones had 60 percent of the vote to beat Democrat and former Marine Erik Anderson.

Jones is mostly conservative, but has joined Democrats on issues like the minimum wage. The 69-year-old Republican is also a big supporter of the military in a district that includes many of the state's eastern counties and the massive U.S. Marine Corps base at Camp Lejeune.
