According to a number of national sources including ESPN and USA Today, Former ECU quarterback David Garrard says he's retiring from the NFL.
nfl.com first reported the story and Garrard then told SiriusXM host Adam Schein via text, "Having to call it quits. My knee is not holding up. Continuing to swell after practices. Limiting what I can do."
Garrard was vying for the starting quarterback job for the New York Jets. As of now Garrard is still on the Jets roster so WITN will keep you updated on any official retirement announcements by the team or the NFL.
