You may remember Kat Robichaud, a finalist on "The Voice" back in 2013.
Robichaud is from Raleigh and sat down with WITN to talk about her experience on the show. She says the live broadcast is especially hectic.
"Three people fixing your makeup, two people doing your hair, two people fixing, taping, and pulling and making sure your outfit is okay," remembers Robichaud. "And you're sitting there trying to breathe."
Robichaud's been performing for years, but says it was a challenge to calm her nerves on the national stage. She says she loved every minute of being a contestant, but admits she has one small regret.
"You get inside your head and start thinking 'Oh no, I don't think America's going to like this, or I think this is going to turn them off. Maybe I need to conform a little bit just to get a few more people to like me.' And when you do that, you lose yourself a little bit."
Robichaud's coach was CeeLo Green. She also met the rest of the judges, like Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, but was most excited to meet host Carson Daly.
The former Voice contestant is working on an album at the Manifold Studios in Pittsboro in Chatham County. It's being done through a Kickstarter Account, where fans make donations to contribute to the album's progress.
"I have faces of people that I'm making this album for... I think about those people everyday and I don't want to disappoint them, because they're making this possible."
