Police Searching For Gunman After Teenage Girl Shot Sunday Night

A teenager is recovering in Greenville after being shot Sunday night.

Edenton police say Lyanna Roulac of Edenton was shot in the abdomen. The girl was first sent to Vidant Chowan Medical Center and then airlifted to Vidant Medical Center. She is in stable condition, according to police.

Police say it happened around 10:25 p.m. at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Twiddy avenues. Officers encountered a large crowd at the scene, and they continue to look for witnesses to the shooting.
