Police: Neighbor Foils Break-in In Greenville

Three teenagers were charged with breaking into an apartment with the help of an alert neighbor and some quick cops.

Greenville police charged 19-year-old Quantez Holloway, 19-year-old Brandon Joyner and 18-year-old Vasco Atkinson with several charges following the Monday break-in on Sterling Pointe Drive. Police got a call from a resident of the apartment complex at 11:30 a.m. who said they saw three people go into another home.

Police responded, and Officer A. Smith saw three people running from the back of the apartment. Officer Smith caught Holloway after a brief chase, while Officer Simmons and Corporal Wormell caught up with Atkinson and Joyner on Belfair Drive.

The neighbor identified the three suspects to police.

Once the person who lived in the apartment that was broken into got home, the break-in victim told police a flat screen TV, computer and a notebook computer had been stolen. As officers retraced where the suspects ran, police say they recovered the stolen items.

All three suspects are charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny,, and conspiring to break-in to a building. Atkinson and Joyner are faced with the additional charge of resisting arrest. Their bonds were set at $100,000. Holloway's bond is set at $50,000.
