Police say a woman ripped off generous donors by dressing up and impersonating a Salvation Army bell ringer.
Investigators say 51-year-old Annie King went door-to-door asking for donations at downtown businesses in Raeford on Thursday. She was later arrested in front of a Family Dollar store.
Police say she collected about 20 dollars before she was taken into custody. Investigators say King was a Salvation Army bell ringer in Tennessee and was using her old apron and bell.
She's charged with obtaining property by false pretense.
