Police say responded to a shots fired call around 8:30 p.m. at the Motel 6 on Greenville Boulevard. There they say they found a 4-year-old boy had been shot in the arm by a .22 caliber rifle.

Police say that the boy's father was in the room with 4 children, and that a rifle was lying on the floor near the bed. Police say one of the children handled the rifle causing it to go off and strike the 4-year-old boy.
