UPDATE: Moped Driver Transported To Vidant Medical Center

Greenville Police investigated a Saturday afternoon accident involving a jeep and a moped.

Officials with the police department say that the driver of the moped, Warren Eck, was taken to Vidant Medical Center with "apparent injury". Police say the accident happened around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of 2nd and Cotanche Streets and involved a jeep driven by Collier Finch.

The official we spoke to could not speak to whether or not charges will be filed in the accident. We have a call in to the investigating officer for more information.

Pitt County Communications says that emergency responders are at the scene of an accident involving a vehicle and a moped.

Dispatchers say that the call came in around 4:45 p.m. and happened at the intersection of 2nd and Cotanche Streets in Greenville. We’re told injuries were reported with the accident and say that Greenville Fire & EMS were dispatched to the scene.
