If your child goes to school in Pitt County, they will be going to class a couple more days next month.
Last week the school system cancelled classes for four days because of the snow.
Because Pitt County's school day exceeds the number of hours required, it leaves the district with "banked" instructional hours.
They will use those hours to make up two of the missed days, while students will go to school in March 7th and March 31st for the others. Those days were originally set aside as teacher workdays.
The school district said it looked at various scenarios which were the least inconvenient for everyone involved.
