A nearly stationary front will be over Eastern Carolina through midweek. Temperatures will be warmer Tuesday then cool down a few degrees for Wednesday with low 80s Tuesday to mid to upper 70s on Wednesday. A weak disturbance may follow the stationary front over our area tonight bringing a shower or thunderstorm from the northwest. Skies should become partly cloudy Wednesday with only a slight risk of a shower or storm during the late afternoon or evening.
Much warmer air will arrive by Thursday as many communities will see highs surging into the middle to upper 80s. Some locations may hit 90 degrees by Friday afternoon. Dry weather is expected during the latter portion of the week.
