UPDATE: Police: New Bern Parking Lot Robbery Was Drug Deal Gone Bad


Police in New Bern say that 5 people are now facing charges, including the victim, after an armed robbery possibly involving a BB gun or airsoft gun.

Police say that the robbery happened in the parking lot of the Books-A-Million in New Bern. One suspect was named by police, 19-year-old Michael Serrano, who was arrested this morning.

Officials say that the robbery was a drug deal gone bad.

New Bern Police said one man is in custody after an armed robbery where the victim says the weapon was either a BB gun or airsoft gun.

Investigators said 19-year-old Michael Serrano was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on Monday.

Police said Serrano robbed someone in the parking lot of the Books-A-Million in New Bern.

Police said the victim told them he believed Seranno held him at gunpoint with either a BB gun or airsoft gun, but he could not tell which.

The investigation continues and no other information has been released.
