Police said a 15-year-old girl ran down an accused robber after the man swiped her mother's cell phone near a Greenville Walmart.
Greenville Police Spokeswoman Kristen Hunter told WITN officers were called around 2 p.m. Thursday after a man swiped a woman's cell phone in the parking lot of the Greenville Boulevard Walmart store.
Hunter said the victim's 15-year-old daughter chased the robber down and snatched back the stolen cell phone. Officers said they picked up the chase from there.
According to police, the robber crossed over Greenville Boulevard on foot, over the railroad tracks, and police eventually caught up to him behind the Best Buy on Evans Street.
Officers have now charged 24-year-old Adrian Newsome with a felony count of larceny from a person and resisting a public officer.
Jail records show the Wilson man's bond was set at $25,000.
Deputies said Newsome had his first appearance in court on the charges Friday morning. No word yet on his next court date.
