POLICE: Man Arrested After Crashing Stolen Car In Greenville

Police say that a man who stole a car Saturday evening, ended up crashing it and taking off on foot.

Greenville Police say that they responded to the area of Arlington Boulevard and McGregor Downs Road to the report of a car crash where the driver, identified as 34-year-old Demetrius Wrighton of Farmville, jumped and ran from the vehicle.

Officials say that Vidant Police chased Wrighton and found him located in a small wooded area near Beasley Drive.

Investigators say the vehicle had been stolen from Golden Living Center at 2910 MacGregor Downs Road.

Pitt County jail records show that Wrighton is facing several charges including larceny of a motor vehicle, resisting a public officer, DWI, and financial card theft.

Wrighton is being held on a $150,000 secured bond.
