An Onslow County man has been arrested and charged with faking an insurance claim.
NC Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin says 21-year-old Dustin Hollis falsely reported his 1997 Jeep Cherokee stolen from his home back in May.
Goodwin's office listed Hollis as a Camp Lejeune resident.
On Hollis' facebook page he says he's a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps.
After reporting his Jeep missing, Goodwin says Hollis then provided false and misleading information to USAA Insurance in an attempt to claim insurance money.
The Onslow County Sheriff's Office arrested Hollis and charged him with insurance fraud, attempting to obtain property by false pretense, and filing a false police report.
