Online Voting Could Land Local Country Band As Best New Artist

A band from Eastern Carolina might just take a big national honor, and you could help get them there.

Parmalee is one of eight acts who are vying online for the Academy of Country Music's New Artist of the Year. The final three nominees will be selected through online voting that's now underway.

The band's first #1 country song, "Carolina", was recently certified as a gold record by the RIAA.

Online voting ends Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. and people 13 years or older can vote once a day. We're created a link to vote for Parmalee, it's to the right of this story, under the picture.

The ACM Awards will be broadcast on network television at 8pm on April 6th.
