Officials say that fast response to a church burglar alarm ended with a suspect in handcuffs.
The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office says that it arrested 26-year-old Antione Hunter of Enfield at the Antioch Baptist Church.
Investigators say that deputies responded around 10:34 a.m. to a tripped burglar alarm at the church. When they arrived on scene, officials say they found Hunter removing assorted copper and metals from the central heating and air condition units.
Hunter has been charged with felony larceny, possession of stolen goods, injury to real and personal property.
Hunter is being held in the Halifax County Jail under a $10,000 bond. Officials say he has a June 25th trial date.
