It's official, Clay Aiken has won the Democratic primary for the 2nd Congressional District.
On election night, the American Idol runner-up was leading former Department of Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco by less than 400 votes.
The 71-year-old Crisco died after a fall outside his home Monday afternoon in Asheboro.
After today's vote canvass, Aiken had 11,678 while Crisco finished with 11,288. Toni Morris was third with 5,616.
The results won't be certified until next week.
Aiken will now face Congresswoman Renee Ellmers in November.
