New Grading Policy For ECU

ECU is changing its grading system for all students next academic year , and not everyone is happy about it.

East Carolina University will switch its current "A" through "F" grading system to a system that includes pluses and minuses this coming fall.

ECU says the change will affect all students and says the highest grade will still be an "A", but students will also be able to score A minuses, B pluses and so on.

Some professors say the new system will help make grading easier for students who are walking a fine line between letter grades now.

Some students say the change might help boost their GPA's, but most we talked with were against the change, saying it will be a lot harder to get a 4.0.

ECU says the Department of Academic Affairs is working to finalize the new guidelines.
