While homeowners wait for government aid, the Red Cross and other organizations are in the Beaufort County area helping families with the clean-up.
WITN caught up with the United Methodist Disaster Response Team on Monday. They were cutting limbs and digging through the debris of homes that were either damaged or destroyed.
Several men from the U.S. Coast Guard volunteered to put tarps on the roof of a home before rain moved in Monday afternoon.
The Red Cross was also out in the area, and throughout Eastern Carolina, with mobile feeding trucks. The trucks allow them to provide hot meals to both volunteers and tornado victims.
The Red Cross says they'll be out in Beaufort County until at least Friday.
