NC Woman Charged With Impersonating US Agent In SC

York County deputies say a Charlotte, N.C., woman claimed she was a Secret Service agent and started asking for personal information from guests at a Fort Mill hotel.

Investigators told The Herald of Rock Hill (http://bit.ly/16EVUjH ) that arrest warrants for impersonating a law enforcement officer, trespassing and giving false information have been issued against 45-year-old Shevalo Laney, but haven't been served because she is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.

Authorities say Laney was wearing a black coat with "agent" on it when she started questioning guests and asking them for personal information at the hotel. When deputies arrived, she told them her supervisor was "General Abernathy," but couldn't give them contact information for him. She didn't have a badge and told the manager he blew her cover when he called police.
