North Carolina kicked off its Thanksgiving Click it or Ticket campaign Monday. It runs through November 25th.
Across the nation seatbelt use has hit an all time record high of 86 percent according to the Traffic Safety Agency.
In part it's due to a significant increase in use in the South, including North Carolina, where the seat belt usage rate in 2011 was 88.7 percent.
The trend is being credited for a dramatic decrease in road deaths over the last decade on America's roads.
