A New York man has been named Greenville's next public works director.

Kevin Mulligan most recently served as commissioner of public works and assistant city manager for Long Beach, New York.

Mulligan is a professional engineer and starts in Greenville on December 27th at a salary of $130,000 a year. He replaces Wes Anderson who left Greenville earlier this year.

Greenville's Public Works Department is made up of divisions handling sanitation and recycling, traffic, transit, buildings and grounds, streets, stormwater, engineering, building inspections, public cemeteries, motor pool and fleet services.

Since becoming city manager, Barbara Lipscomb has been busy filling top positions. She has already hired a new police chief, while the assistant city manager position and that of human resources remain vacant.
