High pressure will bring more sunshine and warmer air into eastern Carolina on Tuesday. Afternoon highs will reach the middle to upper 80s inland and lower 80s along the beaches. An isolated shower or storm may drift into the area Tuesday night and again Wednesday evening. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 90s by Wednesday afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
A cold front will drop into eastern Carolina late Thursday giving us a better chance for scattered showers and storms, some of which may become severe.
Dry and slightly cooler conditions are on tape for Friday and Saturday with highs in the middle to upper 80s.
