A man who admitted he stole $1.2 million from an armored vehicle in Washington is headed to federal prison for a long time.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Emmanuel Wallace III was sentenced Wednesday in Wilmington to 21 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

Wallace, who lives in Hurdle Mills, and two others have pleaded guilty in the June 23, 2011 robbery of the Garda armored vehicle outside the Bank of America ATM in Washington.

Charles Moore, Jr. and Lenard Smith are still awaiting sentencing.

Wallace was also ordered to pay back $963,766, while almost $250,000 in the stolen money has been recovered.
