Man Facing DWI After Thursday Crash

State troopers say a man who was convicted less than a year ago for drunk driving will be charged again after a serious accident in Duplin County.

Troopers say Edgar Cruz was driving drunk when he ran off Tram Road Thursday afternoon around 2:00 p.m. Cruz's vehicle went airborne, hit a pine tree and flipped multiple times.

The man's arm was smashed, according to troopers, while he and a passenger were taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Cruz will be charged with DWI, careless and reckless driving and speeding. The Highway Patrol says there were multiple beer cans in the man's vehicle.

The same trooper who investigated Thursday's crash arrested Cruz in his previous DWI conviction.

Liberals or progressives serve no purpose. They don't even spend money with the people who buy advertisements from WITN television.

I agree with all of you. If you get caught the first time with a DWI. Automatic 30 days in prison. Not jail! The system will never do this because they claim over crowding. And taxpayers will complain cause they will be paying their stay in prison. Better then them killing someone. And that still may not teach them, but I'm sure it might would teach more then half. And it should be set up when they get out on the 30 day they have 60 days to pay back what it cost for that stay. I have heard of people having 3 or more DWI! What!!! Teach them the first time there is no tolerance.

What driving privilege? Many hispanics drive with no license and no insurance so they have nothing to lose. I commend those in the Hispanic community who do uphold the law and they encourage others to do so.

Let's give a round of applause to our great judicial system for slapping him on the wrist the first time, I'm sure he will get slapped on the wrist again and the next time, cause there will be a next time he will kill my opinion first offense should require hard time!!
