Police say a man who was on the run for the past seven months has finally been caught in Wilmington.
Javon Ward was wanted for the August 19th shooting of Stevn Todd at Havelock's Kelley Park Apartments.
Todd was struck five times after shots were fired from a moving vehicle while he was in a parking lot.
Havelock police say the victim had been in a previous dispute with Ward.
Ward was arrested at a Wilmington hotel last night after police there got a tip from an informant regarding recent drug activity.
In addition to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill charge, Ward is facing two counts of trafficking opium or heroin, along with other charges.
He's jailed in New Hanover County on a $256,000 secured bond.
