Man Surrenders On Two Murder Charges

A man on the run for more than a year for two murders in Eastern Carolina is finally behind bars.

Halifax County deputies say Jimmie Lee Mason turned himself in to the county jail around noon on Sunday.

The 20-year-old Mason was wanted for the September 4th, 2011 murders on Delta Drive in Roanoke Rapids. Deputies say Jennilee Foster and Thomas Davis were shot and killed. Deputies say the two were boyfriend/girlfriend and that the woman was holding her baby daughter at the time. The baby was not hurt.

This past March the case was featured on "America's Most Wanted".

Mason is being held without bond.
