A two-year-old girl who was the subject of a statewide Amber Alert Thursday has been reunited with her mother.
London Exum was found safe Thursday evening after her father turned himself into police in Fuquay-Varina.
Devine Exum had been wanted for the rape, kidnapping and stabbing of his ex-girlfriend, who is the child's mother. The two parents share custody of London.
Police say the stabbing happened around 11:00 a.m. at Exum's apartment at River Walk Apartments in Grifton during a visit by the mother and daughter.
Grifton Police Chief Bryan Cauley says the mother was released from Vidant Medical Center and the two were reunited around 10:00 p.m.
Exum remains in the Wake County jail, awaiting his return to Pitt County to face charges in the case.
Chief Bryan Cauley said the man accused of raping and stabbing his ex-girlfriend and taking their daughter, has turned himself in and the girl is okay.
Jail records indicate 29-year-old Devine Exum is booked in the Wake County jail.
Grifton Police Chief Bryan Cauley said Exum turned himself in to the Fuquay-Varina Police around 6:55 p.m. Thursday night, nearly two hours after an AMBER Alert was issued for his two-year-old.
Police said the Grifton man's two-year-old daughter, London, was with him and she is okay.
Police are now working to reunite the girl with her mother who was taken to Vidant Medical Center where she is in stable condition.
Chief Cauley said the incident happened around 11:00 a.m. at River Walk Apartments on Wall Street.
The chief says Exum's ex-girlfriend was visiting him Thursday morning.
Exum is accused of raping the woman, and then stabbing her. Police say she was stabbed in the leg and had a superficial wound to her neck.
Cauley said Exum then took their daughter, of whom they have shared custody.
Exum is now facing a first degree kidnapping charge, first degree rape, and assault with a deadly weapon. Police said all of those charges involve the mother.

The 29-year-old Exum is believed to be in his 2002 blue Mercury Marquis that has large chrome rims. It has North Carolina tag CER-3691. It is believed the vehicle was involved in a hit and run on U.S. 70 of Kinston around 2:30 p.m.
The chief says they are concerned with the child's safety as she is asthmatic and may not have her medicine.
Exum is wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury, rape and kidnapping. All of those charges involve the mother.
The victim was taken to Vidant Medical Center where she is in stable condition.
The girl is African American, 2-feet, 6-inches tall, and weighs 35 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
