Man Killed Standing On Lenoir County Highway

The Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian in Lenoir County.

Troopers say a man was hit by a car as he stood in the northbound lane of Highway 11 near Highway 118 outside of Grifton. The impact killed the man. The incident happened at 6:05 p.m. Saturday.

The name of the man killed has not been released, but troopers say he was 70 years old.

Troopers say no charges are expected in the crash.
