One man is dead during a daylight shooting, and police are searching for his killer.

Havelock police say they got a call around 11:10 a.m. to Cedar Ridge Lane where they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds in the front yard of the home.

Police have now identified the murder victim as 45-year-old Gerald Price.

He was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center where he died. Investigators say Price was shot inside the home, and managed to make it outside where they found him.

Police recovered multiple weapons and bullets at the scene, and are searching for a black Dodge Ram 2500 series crew cab pickup truck. The vehicle has no tailgate and was last seen going toward Highway 101 on Webb Boulevard. The driver was possibly a black man, wearing a dark rain jacket and a hooded sweatshirt.

Police say they are still investigating circumstances of the shooting and a motive, but do not believe it was a random act of violence. Those people interviewed by investigators so far could provide police little information on the homicide.

Anyone with information on the homicide should call Havelock Police at 252-447-3212.
