A town meeting apparently got a little too heated last night in one Carteret County town, so much that one person was arrested.
Carteret County deputies charged Steven Bowling of Bogue with disorderly conduct in a public building and failing to heed for a blue light and siren.
Bogue Mayor Mitchell Russell told deputies that Bowling became upset over road conditions on Chimney Branch Road, the same road where he lives as well as where town hall is located.
Bowling is accused of interrupting the town meeting several times, including approaching and yelling at board members and striking a projector screen with his hand during the meeting.
The mayor ended up calling 911 for help and when deputies arrived they found Bowling leaving in his vehicle. They say the man didn't stop for their blue lights and siren until he reached his driveway.
Bowling, who is 44 years old, had his bond set at $1,000 and has a court date of October 23rd.
