Wayne County authorities are trying to figure out why a local man died during a routine traffic stop Thursday.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says they were conducting a drug investigation in the Dudley area when they stopped Reginald Grady of Goldsboro.
Deputies say Grady started convulsing.
EMS treated the 56-year-old on scene before he was pronounced dead.
The SBI is investigating, which is normal when a death occurs when officers are involved.
The medical examiner hasn't released a cause of death.
