One man is in jail, and another in the hospital with critical injuries after a weekend stabbing outside a bar.
Carteret County deputies have charged William Houston, 36 of Jacksonville, with the Sunday morning stabbing.
Deputies say it happened around 1:00 a.m. in the parking lot of Cedar Point Tavern on Highway 24 in Cedar Point. Steven Copley of Pelletier was stabbed eight times and is now at Vidant Medical Center in critical condition.
Investigators say a fight preceded the stabbing, though a motive for the fight remains under investigation.
Houston was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was jailed on a $100,000 bond.
