Longer Ferry Routes On Outer Banks

Repairs to the Bonner Bridge on the Outer Banks are forcing ferries to use a longer route.

The Ferry Division of the NC D-O-T says there are safety concerns and lack of deep water in the regular Hatteras Inlet channel. The alternate route for Hatteras-Ocracoke ferries is about 13 o 15 minutes longer than normal.

This new route will continue until further notice.
