A solider returning home surprised his 7-year-old daughter at school on Monday.
Specialist Casey Jones just got back, after spending the last nine months at Forward Operating Base Shank in the Logar Province of Afghanistan.
On Monday, Jones surprised his daughter Abby in her second grade classroom at Contentnea-Savannah School just outside of Kinston.
Abby was all smiles while many staff members looking on were all tears.
After serving four tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, Jones says he plans to leave the army later this year.
He tells WITN that he wanted to make his final return home a special one.
Jones says, "Oh it was so exciting. I couldn't hold back the tears. I'm gonna get choked up right now."
Abby was allowed to leave school early to spend time with her dad. The first stop was a trip to Sweet Frog for Abby's favorite frozen treat.
