James Sprunt Community College turned back time on Thursday to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The college celebrated the milestone with a 60's theme, "A Day in the Life of 1964."
The community college opened in Duplin County in 1964 and is named after an early educator who opened some of the first schools in the area.
About 1,400 students are earning associate degrees in culinary arts, nursing, and even getting certified in wine making. James Sprunt also offers continuing education in many fields and G.E.D. programs.
WITN spoke with students who said they like the family atmosphere there.
