Hot And Sticky With Isolated Thunderstorms

The persistent heat across eastern North Carolina will continue on Wednesday. We'll see highs hit the middle 90s across inland communities, with upper 80s on the beaches. The increasing relative humidity will cause heat indices to reach 100° to 105°. A weak disturbance may cause some widely scattered thunderstorms late tonight into Wednesday but dry conditions will continue in most locations. The northern half of the area is the most favored location for thunderstorms. Extreme heat will arrive Thursday through the weekend.
