Homeless Seek Shelter From Frigid Cold

In this frigid cold weather some homeless in Carteret County say they're glad they have a warm place to go during the day, but at night they're back on the streets.

The Hope Mission on Bridges Street in Morehead City opens its doors to the needy six days a week from 11:00 a.m until 12;30 p.m. The mission provides a place to get warm and a place to get a warm meal.

Daniel Ireland told WITN he's been homeless for 5-years and is thankful for the mission. But he says at night things get tough when he has no place to go. Ireland says, "I try and find a warm spot. It's not easy. I get blankets from certain people and stuff like that and I just try and do the best that I can."

If you want to help Hope Mission you can send monetary donations to PO Box 1438 Morehead City, North Carolina 28557.
