Highway Patrol: Man Dead After Being Struck While Riding Mini-Bike In Washington County

The Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a man who was struck by a truck while riding on a motorized mini-bike.

1st Sgt. Brandon Craft says that 63-year-old Delores Longoria was traveling north on Jones White Road in Washington County around 5:50 Saturday evening, when she struck 71-year-old Ernest Moore from behind.

1st Sgt. Craft says that Moore was wearing dark clothing, and not wearing a helmet when he was struck on what was described as a motorized mini-bike that is not legal to operate on the roadway.

We’re told that Moore died at the scene.

Longoria was driving a Chevy pickup truck and was not injured.

Officials say that they are still trying to determine if charges will be filed. The accident remains under investigation.
