High School Grad Rate Highest Since `76

More young people in the U.S. are graduating from high school.

An Education Department study says the high school graduation rate is at its highest since 1976. Officials say the steady rise of students completing their education is a reflection of the struggling economy and a greater competition for new jobs.

But one in five kids still don't finish high school in four years, and the dropout rate is higher for boys than girls.
