Havelock Homeowner Away On Vacation, Home Burns Down

A home in Havelock where the homeowner was on vacation went up in flames Thursday.

Twenty firefighters spent the morning battling the house fire.

By the time firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed and flames were shooting through the roof.

The Havelock fire chief says the homeowner was on vacation at the time.

The flames were so intense siding melted on the next door neighbors house.

Officials are still investigating.

The home is a total loss.
