Greenville Police Release Surveillance Pictures Of Purse Theft At Walmart

Greenville police hope surveillance pictures can help them identify the man who stole a woman's wallet while she was Christmas shopping last month.

Detectives say a woman shopping on December 10 at the Walmart on Greenville Blvd. had her wallet stolen. Police say after the wallet was stolen, there were attempts to use the victim's financial card along with an identity theft attempt.

Surveillance pictures from Walmart show the suspect picking up the victim's wallet and leaving the store. The suspect is described as a black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black athletic pants. He has a black 'doo-rag' on his head.

Anyone able to identify the suspect is asked to contact Detective M.T. McKnight at the Greenville Police Department at (252) 329-4318 or Pitt-Greenville CrimeStoppers at (252) 758-7777.
