Funeral Set For Mother Killed Crossing Greenville Road Near Hospital

Memorial and funeral services have been set for a mother of 3 and hospital employee killed crossing the street Monday night.

A memorial for Latosha Bond will be held Friday 7-8 p.m. in Windsor.
Funeral services are planned for Saturday at 1:00 p.m.at the Indian Wood Church in Windsor.

The 40-year-old nurse's assistant was killed Monday night while crossing Stantonsburg Road on her way to work at Vidant Medical Center and was hit by two vehicles.

Police say their investigation of the accident is ongoing.

A hospital employee and mother of three was killed Monday night while crossing the street in front of Vidant Medical Center.

40-year-old Latosha Bond of Winterville was the pedestrian hit by two vehicles, according to Greenville police.

Bond's family says she was a care partner at Vidant for the past five years. The hospital says a care partner is similar to a nursing assistant.

The first vehicle that hit the woman was an SUV going an estimated 30 miles per hour, according to the police report.

The report says the SUV was merging into the center turn lane when it hit the woman. It says that impact pushed Bond into oncoming traffic where a truck going an estimated 40 miles per hour also hit her.

The speed limit where the accident happened is 45 miles per hour.

The 6:35 p.m. accident happened 150 feet west of the intersection of Stantonsburg Road and Moye Boulevard.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Greenville police are investigating a vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian Monday night.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Stantonsburg Road.

Greenville police say the woman, whose name hasn't been released yet, was crossing and standing in the turning lane when she was hit by both an SUV and a large truck. The vehicles were traveling in opposite directions.

The woman was transported to Vidant Medical Center but has died.

The accident remains under investigation.
