Several months after Greenville police put out surveillance photos of a man wanted for a series of car break-ins and officers now say they have their man behind bars.
Keontae Ward of Greenville was arrested Thursday night. Police say the 21-year-old is responsible for 20 car break-ins at the Bellamy and at Kittrell Farms subdivision.
It was back in December that police release surveillance photos of a man at the Food Lion on East 10th Street who used a stolen check to buy a pack of cigarettes and obtain $50 in cash. That check was stolen from one of the vehicles in Kitrell Farms, and Ward was eventually identified.
Ward faces a total of 49 different charges, including breaking and entering a motor vehicle, obtaining property by false pretense, financial car theft, and possession of stolen goods.
The man was jailed on a $200,000 secured bond.
