Greenville Dog Tops In Sporting Group At National Dog Show

A Greenville dog owner has bragging rights after her dog took top honors Thursday in the Sporting Group category at the National Dog Show in Philadelphia.

Nicole Dooley is the breeder, owner and handler for 18-month-old Ginger, a Field Spaniel.

Ginger competed against 29 other dogs in the Sporting Group category and won.

A Wire Fox Terrier has once again been named America's top dog. The 4-year-old terrier named "Sky" was named best in show over more than 1,500 other dogs in this year's National Dog Show.

This marks the first time the same breed has won the top award two consecutive years at a major competition since 1972.

The dog show aired on WITN Thanksgiving day and is scheduled to be rebroadcast Friday night at 8:00 p.m.
