Greenville City Council Passes Sweepstakes Cafe Ordinance

They've been the targets of armed robbers recently, and now Internet sweepstakes cafes in one city are the targets of new regulations by city leaders.

The Greenville City Council passed an ordinance last night to force Internet sweepstakes cafes to be a half-mile apart from each other. These businesses have been the focus of the city council for several months, since the number of them has exploded in recent years. There is a moratorium preventing any new Internet sweepstakes cafes from opening while the city council considers regulation.

Meanwhile, local law enforcement continues to investigate whether hold-ups at these types of businesses over the past several weeks are connected.
