Goldsboro Parents Help Catch Robbers After Invasion

Goldsboro Police said a mother and stepfather helped catch a group of home invaders after the five accused men and women ransacked their home.

Officers said they got a call to the 1700 block of Harrell Street around 2:15 p.m. Monday.

Detectives said they arrived to find out a group of masked people forced their way into a home while a 17-year-old was home. Police said the group stole a .40 caliber handgun and tried to take off when the teen's mom and stepdad pulled in.

According to police, the parents tried blocking in the group's car with their SUV, but one of the accused robbers hit that SUV while trying to get away. Police said the get--away car spun out in the front yard and the group jumped out, taking off on foot.

Two of the women involved were caught by the stepfather, according to investigators, while the three masked men found themselves surrounded by police at the nearby Goldsboro Country Club golf course.

Officers said all five are facing charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering, first-degree kidnapping, larceny of a firearm, and possession of stolen property.

All five accused robbers were arrested and due to make their first appearance in a Wayne County Courtroom on Tuesday. Those suspects are listed below.

- Navone Carter, 26-years-old of Dudley

- Christopher Dixon, 22-years-old of Kinston

- Victor Exum, 46-years-old of Goldsboro

- Amy Moore, 33-years-old of Goldsboro

- Shaquana McCutchen, 20-years-old of Goldsboro
